A Road Scholar Program by Betty Kay
Historical actor Betty Kay tells the story of the Lincolns through the eyes of Elizabeth Todd Edwards, sister of Mary Todd Lincoln, who was among the people most closely acquainted with the Lincolns. She held Mary in her arms on the day she was born and again on the day she died in the Edwards’ home in 1882.
Kay begins her presentation by comparing Mary’s childhood experiences with Abraham’s and then weaves their lives together.
**This presentation can be adapted for audiences of all ages, including children. **Younger audiences may have a few opportunities for participation.
