In October 2016 Pennsylvania Humanities Council staff and artists from Chester, PA, traveled to Chicago, IL, and Gary, IN, for a peer exchange with local artists working to make change in their communities. The exchange gave us insight on creative placemaking at a grassroots level, which will inform our Chester Made Exploration Zone project.
Chester Made Exploration Zone project partners include the City of Chester, Widener University, Pennsylvania Humanities Council, The Artist Warehouse, and Public Workshop. Special thanks to Illinois Humanities.
Major support has been provided by The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage, with additional support from the National Endowment for the Arts.
