The Peoria Public Library main branch kicks off a community information and troubleshooting effort Saturday on the matter of opiate and heroin abuse.

The first of the Library’s four-part series is in cooperation with Peoria Reads! and the Mayor’s Coalition Against Heroin.

The CEO of the Human Service Center is moderating the discussion and brainstorming session that is looking to find community strategies to address these issues.

The series is funded with an Illinois Humanities Council grant that supports efforts to understand and find solutions for the heroin and opiate epidemic.
