Next major grant proposals due July 15
CHICAGO –The Illinois Humanities Council Board of Directors has awarded a total of $206,542 to 23 nonprofit organizations for development and production of public humanities projects.
Funded projects include a Croatian Heritage Project in Edwardsville, a Civil Rights Institute organized by the Brighton Park Neighborhood Council in Chicago, an African American oral history project in Springfield, and a documentary film entitled “World on a String,” about Filipino inventors of the yo-yo.
Community support for these projects totaled $703,196. A list of grants and the organizations that are sponsoring these programs are listed below:

The Illinois Humanities Council is an educational organization dedicated to fostering a culture in which the humanities are a vital part of the lives of individuals and communities.
