Workshop to feature the grant application process and the
IHC’s grant guidelines
CHICAGO—The Illinois Humanities Council (IHC) invites grant applicants to a public Major and Mini Grant workshop on Friday, November 3,from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM. This workshop will be held on the second floor of the Lincoln Home National Historic Site (at 8th Street and Capitol Street, Springfield). Any non-profit organization or institution is eligible to apply for IHC support for a public project in the humanities.
IHC program officers will staff the meeting and field questions about applying for grants for various types of projects, including documentary films, local and community history projects, literary symposia, and oral history projects. The IHC makes it a priority to fund projects developed by, for, or aimed at reaching new or historically neglected audiences. The IHC also encourages applications for projects about American history and culture. The IHC’s deadline for submitting proposals for the next cycle of major grants is February 15; the next deadlines for mini grant proposals are October 15, 2006 and January 15, 2007.
