The Illinois Humanities Council, the History Club at UIS, and the Lincoln Public Library co-sponsor a discussion of the local impact of this landmark Supreme Court decision

CHICAGO— The Illinois Humanities Council (IHC), the History Club at the University of Illinois at Springfield, and The Lincoln Public Library will present “The Legacy of Brown in District 186: The Struggle Continues” on Thursday, October 14 at 7:00 p.m. at the Lincoln Public Library, Carnegie Room in Springfield. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS A CHANGE IN EVENT LOCATION.

This panel discussion will reflect on the efforts to desegregate schools in Springfield school District 186 and will assess the results of those efforts. Panelists will include G. Cullom Davis and Roger Bridges, plaintiffs in the desegregation case; Teresa Haley, a former student in District 186 during the legal battle; and a current representative from District 186.
