Interested grant applicants invited to attend free workshop on application process

CHICAGO-The Illinois Humanities Council (IHC) invites grant applicants to a public Major and Mini Grant workshop on June 4, 2004 . This workshop will be held at 10:00a.m. in the IHC Office, 203 N. Wabash Ave, Chicago, IL 60601, Suite 2020. To register for this workshop, please contact the IHC 312.422.5580, or send an e-mail to ihc@prairie.org. May 28, 2004 is the registration deadline .

Any non-profit group, organization, or institution in Illinois is eligible to receive financial support from the IHC for a public project in the humanities, including documentary films, local and community history projects, literary symposia, and oral history projects. The IHC makes it a priority to fund projects developed by, for, or aimed at reaching new or historically neglected audiences.

IHC program officers will staff the meeting and field questions about applying for grants for various types of projects. The IHC’s deadline for submitting proposals for the next cycle of major grants is July 15; the next deadline for mini grant proposals is also July 15.
