Walls and Bridges: Art by Women at Logan Correctional Center features artworks created by women, using art supplies and other materials available to them, at Logan Correctional Center.

The women were eligible to enter up to three artworks, by following the exhibit conditions and entry guidelines. Entries included drawings, paintings, mixed media works, sculptures, textiles, and handwritten poetry and prose.

Selected works were co-curated at Logan by Danell Dvorak, Joe McCauley Gallery Coordinator, Sherrin Fitzer, Administrator, and Mark Hopkins, Counselor, Women and Family Services at Logan Correctional Center.

The works in Walls and Bridges communicate diverse, individual responses to the title of this exhibit.

The exhibit will display From October 21 through December 6, 2013 during Gallery regular hours (9am – 4pm Mondays through Fridays barring holidays and College closings).

The Joe McCauley Gallery is hosting three events in conjunction with this exhibition.

• The Grey Area: Feminism Behind Bars, film and panel discussion: Tuesday, November 5, 3-5pm in Rooms 1406 and 1407 in the Community Commons Building.
• Art Talk by Ashley Lucas: Thursday, November 7, 3-4pm in Room ICB 2805.
• Reception: Thursday, November 7, 4-5:30 pm in the gallery.
