Voices for Freedom and Justice: Patrick Henry, Bert Williams, and William Lloyd Garrison

The annual Chautauquas presented by the Morgan County Historical Society are filled with historical re-enactments, storytelling, lectures, music, and dance.

Share in the fun of the 2007 Chautauqua, Voices for Freedom and Justice, as the Morgan County Historical Society introduces: Patrick Henry, Bert Williams, and William Lloyd Garrison.

4 PM: Music by Nathan Carls and the Upstandard Citizens, Beardstown, IL

5 PM: Patrick Henry (1736-1799), “Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death!” portrayed by John Chalberg, Bloomington, MN

6 PM: Supper*

7 PM: Bert Williams (1874-1922), “The Color Barrier on Broadway,” Music by Ann Ommen, Ohio State Univeristy, Columbus, OH.

8:15 PM: William Lloyd Garrison (1805-1879), “Abolitionist and Social Reformer,” portrayed by Michael Hughes, Ada, OK

*Supper served from 6:10 – 6:50 PM. Dinner reservations need to be made at least a day in advance at Hamilton’s Catering Service.
