Understanding Reproductive Justice

How are reproductive rights linked to social justice? What do racism and economic injustice have to do with reproductive justice, and how do we even define it? How can we and why should we move beyond a pro-choice framework even as a woman’s right to choose is increasingly coming under attack? How can we build a movement for women of color for reproductive justice in the United States?

The Illinois Caucus for Adolescent Health, The Public Square at the Illinois Humanities Council, and the Jane Addams Hull-House Museum presenta discussion on the future of reproductive justice. Panelists include Toni Bond, President and CEO of African American Women Evolving; Gaylon Alcaraz, Executive Director of the Chicago Abortion Fund; Yessenia Cervantes from the Illinois Caucus for Adolescent Health; and representatives from Young Women’s Empowerment Project. The discussion will be moderated by Yunuen Rodriguez of Females United for Action.

Reservations are required. For more information or to reserve your place, contact the Illinois Caucus for Adolescent Health online, by e-mail, or by calling 312.427.4460 x233. Reservations must be made by October 9.
