Under one roof, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago houses multiple spaces where people of various ages and abilities come to dance. From virtuosic and rigorously attended bodies to transformative and communally inspired movers, all come to learn, to discover, and to explore their distinctive physical expression.

Led by MacArthur Genius Award recipient Liz Lerman and Chicago’s charismatic Alana Wallace, founder of physically integrated company Dance Detour, Hubbard Street will serve as the place for a rich conversational experience on how one engages diverse bodies in shared space.

Additional participants including Sherry Zunker, founder of BeMoved® (national, personal dance-fitness program); and Youth and Family Programs Manager Kristen Gurbach Jacobsen, will speak to Hubbard Street’s Parkinson’s Project and Education and Community Programs; offering further insights into the beauty of cultivating intergenerational, mixed-ability communities, and embracing how uniquely each person may both move and be moved.”
