The Archaeology of Black Markets: Eighteenth Century Pottery Production and Exchange in the Caribbea

Dr. Mark Hauser of DePaul University will address the importance of understanding informal markets, and examine the ways in which peoples uprooted from West Africa and forced into labor in Jamaica adapted to their oppressive social environment, transforming the political economy of Jamaica.
