Saul Bellow Tribute

The Chicago Historical Society in association with WGN and The Public Square at the Illinois Humanities Council will present a tribute to the memory of Saul Bellow, the Nobel Prize-winning Chicago novelist who passed away last week at the age of 89.

Esteemed radio host Milt Rosenberg will be conducting a live broadcast of his program Extension 720 from the Historical Society’s auditorium that evening, a panel discussion featuring novelist and Bellow friend Richard Stern, novelist and MacArthur Fellow Aleksander Hemon, and longtime colleague Wendy Doniger, from the University of Chicago.

The event will begin at 8:30 pm with dramatic readings of Bellow’s work by a member of The Second City, to be followed by the live broadcast, beginning at 9:00 pm.

Seating is first-come, first-served. Doors open at 8 pm.
