In our first community forum, Illinois Humanities and City Bureau gathered community experiences and perspectives to inform City Bureau’s ongoing reporting on the police misconduct allegation records released in the 2014 court decision Kalven v. Chicago. We also previewed the Citizens Police Data Project, an interactive database that collects and analyzes information from these records.

Now that the Data Project is online, we invite you to join us as we continue the conversation.

After City Bureau staff and reporters share their work in progress, we’ll hold an open town-hall forum to discuss what the Data Project means for everyday Chicagoans, and how City Bureau’s reporting can best serve community needs: we want to hear from you.

This event is made possible in part by support from the Robert R. McCormick Foundation.
