This is an opening reception for a month long display of African American artifacts collected from local residents, on display at the Brookport Library.

The display accompanies a collection of oral histories and historical photographs from local residents as part of the mini-grant “ African American Settlement of Massac County: Documenting Historical Structures ” collected by Danisha Lewis and Vickie Devenport.

The program also includes speakers, Robert Swenson from Southern Illinois University and Ann Laird , Genealogist and Historian, from Metropolis, Illinois.
