Dennis Knobloch will share the story of a quarry that began in Valmeyer in the late 1800’s; a quarry that supplied rock for a railroad roadbed, grew mushrooms underground, served as a Civil Defense shelter during the Cold War era, and has now been a converted to a cold food storage facility and Federal document depository.
