Honoring state championship teams from six area high schools; ranging from 2009 (Raymond) Lincolnwood baseball team to the 1914 Hillsboro boys’ basketball squad.

Other teams to be honored are the 1943-44 Taylorville boys’ basketball team that finished 45-0, 2005-06 Hillsboro girls’ basketball, 1997-98 and 1998-99 Nokomis girls’ basketball, 1995-96 Shelbyville boys’ basketball and 1987-88 Pana boys’ basketball.

Each community will have 10-15 minutes to recall how those victories affected the players and the towns.

This event, part of the Hometown Teams exhibit displaying through July 20, 2014, is free and open to the public.
