New Harmonies in Chautauqua

This program will introduce visitors to an event common in the late 19th and early 20th centuries in rural communities all over the Midwest. Called "chautauquas," this program will explore the social, cultural, and recreational importance that chautauquas had for many Americans.

This program will also feature several types of roots music, for just as important historical personages like William Jennings Bryan made the chautauqua circuit, so did important early acts in bluegrass, gospel, old time, and accordion music.

This program takes place not far from the original home of Lena’s Methodist Campground where the camp meetins and chautauquas once took place.

Admission is $5 per person.
