Music Mornings with Crooked Creek

Every Saturday during the exhibit the museum will host an eclectic line-up of local performers who are carrying on the roots tradition. These performances are supported by Barnyard Guitar.

This week’s performance will feature the Crooked Creek.

Steeped in the Bluegrass tradition, Crooked Creek plays everyone’s favorites with a style that expresses a joy of playing music that brings people together. The band hosts a monthly jam session where musicians of all levels of skill and knowledge of Bluegrass are welcome to join and play with the group.

During this week’s Music Morning session, the band will play one set and then invite others to join in for a good old fashion Bluegrass jam session. The Western Illinois Traditional Music Association will follow this performance

This event is part of the New Harmonies: Celebrating American Roots Music Exhibition on display in Macomb at the Western Illinois Museum between October 23rd and December 5th. Open hours are: Tuesday through Saturday, 10:00am – 4:00pm.
