Chicago Danztheatre Ensemble, Uptown Arts Council, and Design Cloud have partnered with Americans for the Arts to host a Creative Conversation in Chicago on Thursday, October 18, 2012. This Creative Conversation, titled Meet your Maker is envisioned as an opportunity for local arts leaders to interact and meet face-to-face bridging the divide between artists and arts administrators. Creative types, at any stage in their professional career, are encouraged to join us for an evening of exploration among arts-passionate people. “Meet your Maker” is produced in the spirit of relationship and community building in the arts. Rather than a panel discussion or facilitated conversation about a particular topic, attendees ‘come-as-they-are’. This smorgasbord of backgrounds, experiences and knowledge will provide a framework for interdisciplinary networking. Attendees are encouraged to break away from the comfort of the known and enter an unfamiliar space. Through informal round-table discussion “Meet your Maker” aims to foster new relationships and introduce arts professional to resources they may never have known existed!
