Mambisas: Rebel Women in Cuba

TERESA PRADOS-TORREIRA is Women and Gender Studies Director and professor of History and Cultural Studies at Columbia College. She received her B.A. in History from the Univesidad Autónoma de Madrid, and her M.A. and Ph.D. in American Intellectual History from the University of Missouri. She has taught at Columbia College since 1990. Her classes include Cartoons and Satire in American History, Women in U.S. History, Family and Community History and Introduction to Cultural Studies. Her areas of study are the United States and Cuba. Her research interests include women’s history, cultural history, and political satire.
