Luis J. Rodriguez is one of this country’s leading contemporary writers, the author of eight books and an activist for youth and social justice. Luis will deliver a one-hour public reading, lecture and lead a public discussion about the literary arts as a critical agent for social and political transformation. Teen writers from the Young Chicago Authors’ Poetry of Witness project and youth and adult writers from the Neighborhood Writing Alliance and YCA’s Stories Across the Generations in Englewood will share the stage, reading poems and short narratives that bear witness to and document the cultures and developing histories of present day Chicago.
A book signing will follow.
