This program unveils gender in the rhetoric and perspective of the original Hebraic text of the Bible. It decodes the power of translation which allows for judgments and interpretations by translators who introduced misogynist language not found in the original text. It examines verbs and nouns of the gendered Hebrew language that provide clues to a gender identity when referencing man or woman. For example, the word ‘adam’ can be gender-specific for man, as well as gender-generic for human. It critiques assumed allegories and words undetected in the Genesis story. This program is not meant to challenge any specific belief or religion, rather it is an enterprising literary review of the narrative.
