Literature & Medicine: Selected Readings

This discussion session of Literature and Medicine will feature: Dan Shapiro’s, Mom’s Marijuana, a book about the author’s treatment for cancer while he was an adolescent (Shapiro is also the author of Delivering Doctor Amelia: The Story of a Gifted Young Obstetrician’s Error and the Psychologist Who Helped Her); Toni Morrison’s, “ Recitatif,” a short story about race and disability; and Kazuo Ishiguro’s, Never Let Me Go, a futuristic novel about a school for special children, organ donation, and cloning.
