Know More: 'Aswat Al Nid' - Young Voices and Perspectives from the Arab-American Community

Join The Public Square at the Illinois Humanities Council and the West Englewood Library for a series of events that uses the arts as a springboard for discussion and community participation!

In partnership with the ARAB AMERICAN ACTION NETWORK , this event will examine the ways in which narratives are preserved, passed along, and reinterpreted in the Arab culture by showcasing the diverse creative talents of young artists from this community. Youth from the Arab community of Chicago will share their stories about who they are and how they continue to shape their identities. Using hip hop and spoken word, these artists will express their personal struggles and the challenges they face in responding to prejudice and stereotypes.
