International Uilleann Piping Day Chicago, Illinois

Patrick Cannady and his piping students of “The Chicago Pipers” will be hosting an IUPD event in the Irish American Heritage Centre in Chicago at 11am (TBC).

This public event will include a piping recital, an “open house” with refreshments and a projection of NPU-TV webcasts throughout the morning and afternoon.

All are welcome to come, see, listen and learn about the Uilleann Pipes.

The uilleann pipes, Ireland’s iconic bagpipe, has a deep rooted history both in Ireland and in the United States and is especially evocative of the human voice in it’s sound and tonal characteristics. The International Uilleann Piping Day is an event celebrated around the world and originating in Dublin, the headquarters of Na Piobairi Uilleann (the uilleann pipers in Irish).
