The Illinois Humanities Council (IHC) and the Office of Congressman Bobby L. Rush invites grant applicants to attend a free public Major and Mini Grant workshop. Any non-profit organization or institution is eligible to apply to IHC for financial support of a public project in the humanities.

IHC program staff will field questions about guidelines for major and mini grants, as well as about grant support for various kinds of projects– local and community history projects, oral history projects, documentary film projects, and reading/ discussion programs, for example.

Registration is required. When registering, please provide your name, the name of the organization you will be representing, and the organization’s address and phone number.

Space islimited, therefore only one representative per organization will be allowed and preference will be given to first-time participants and organizations residing in the first congressional district.

Please Note. The IHC makes it a priority to fund projects developed by, for, or aimed at reaching new or historically neglected audiences. These include but are not limited to residents of rural communities, men and women with little formal education, inner city or other underserved youth (in after school or weekend programs), people who are economically disadvantaged, or the elderly. The IHC especially invites applications from organizations that serve these communities and strongly encourages other applicants to extend their proposed programs to include such audiences.
