The Illinois Humanities Council (IHC) invites grant applicants to attend a free public Community Grant Application workshop. Any nonprofit organization or institution is eligible to apply to IHC for financial support of a public project in the humanities.
IHC Program Officer Jessica Besser-Rosenberg will field questions about guidelines for major and mini grants, as well as about grant support for various kinds of projects — local and community history projects, oral history projects, documentary film projects, and reading/discussion programs, for example.
Due to high demand and limited space, registration for this workshop is now closed. For more information on the IHC’s Community Grants Program or for specific application information, please call 312.422.5580.
Please Note. The IHC makes it a priority to fund projects developed by, for, or aimed at reaching new or historically neglected audiences. These include but are not limited to residents of rural communities, men and women with little formal education, inner city or other underserved youth (in after school or weekend programs), people who are economically disadvantaged, or the elderly. The IHC especially invites applications from organizations that serve these communities and strongly encourages other applicants to extend their proposed programs to include such audiences.
Registration for this event is closed. For more information, please call 312.422.5580.
