Are you interested in applying for an IHC Grant, the Illinois Arts Council’s Ethnic and Folk Arts Master-Apprentice Program, or other opportunities for Illinois artists and cultural organizations?
Then, join us for the Humanities and Arts Funding Workshop! This workshop is free and open to the public. However, pre-registration is strongly recommended and can be made via email at buckyhalker@buckyhalker.com.
This workshop will be presented by Matt Meacham, Outreach Program Officer with the Illinois Humanities Council, and Bucky Halker, Director of Company of Folk, a non-profit organization dedicated to the conservation of folk culture in Illinois and the Midwest.
Meacham will field questions about the Community Grants Program application process and review IHC grant opportunities for non-profit organizations, including project, media, technical assistance, and general support grants. He will also provide a brief overview of the IHC’s programs, emphasizing those that are available to organizations in downstate Illinois.
Halker is a musician and producer of the Folksongs of Illinois CD series. He will discuss the work of Company of Folk in Illinois and the important role of ethnic and folk arts. He will review funding opportunities in the arts, with particular attention to Illinois Arts Council programs and its master-apprentice awards for folk and traditional musicians and artists.
This workshop, presented in partnership with Company of Folk and sponsored by the Tarble Arts Center, is free and open to the public. However, pre-registration is strongly recommended and can be made via email at buckyhalker@buckyhalker.com.
