Join us for the Gala Performance of Hometown History, a play/music production written and directed by Rockford Lutheran Academy’s Darcy Hill (music/drama teacher) and presented in collaboration with community partners Midway Village Museum Center, Rockford Park District, and Rockford Public Schools Distrct 205.
This production features a celebration of the rich history of Rockford –stories that tell of early Native Americans through the age of industrialization and into our present day, including fur trader Stephen Mack of Rockton, slave Lewis Lemon (who settled in Rockford), and the Rockford Peaches.
The production stars fourth and fifth graders from the Rockford Lutheran Academy.
The gala will also feature performances by Music Academy of Rockford’s ‘Take Five‘, Dorothy Paige Turner and the Urban Choir of Haskell Elementary School, Irish, Italian and German dancers, and a Rockford School District rap group.
Tickets for this event are $10/person, of which $9 will go back to local participating nonprofit groups.
Tickets can be purchased online at http://coronadopac.org/ or in person at the Coronado Theater box office.
