'Hatillo in Chicago' Exhibition opening reception and Bomba performance

Join the Puerto Rican Arts Alliance for an opening reception of the “Hatillo in Chicago” exhibition.

The exhibition features traditional handmade masks and costumes inspired by the carnival tradition from Hatillo, which is a municipality located on Puerto Rico’s north coast.

Opening night for the Hatillo in Chicago exhibition will feature the local ensemble group called Buya performing the traditional Bomba music of Puerto Rico.

The exhibition (May 2 – June 27, 2014) and events will be free and open to the public. Programs will be presented in English with Spanish translation.
