Harriet Tubman: Moses of Her People

In this dynamic portrayal for all audiences, Marlene Rivero presents Harriet Tubman through songs, costumes and first-person characterization. Harriet Tubman was a woman of great strength, courage, faith and a steadfastness of purpose that has inspired Americans of all colors and creeds for nearly 150 years. Rivero relates Tubman’s role in the Underground Railroad through signal songs, such as “Steal Away” and “Wade in the Water,” emphasizing why Harriet Tubman is known today as the “Moses” of her people. This program can be geared to both children and adult audiences.
