In this seminar, which runs through Tuesday, February 7, 2006, participants will explore how folk medicine is a form of complementary and alternative medicine that relies heavily (although not exclusively) on oral tradition.
Participants will examine their own folk medicine beliefs, learn about acceptance by the medical establishment of certain folk medical beliefs, and use writing to examine how health issues and concerns are reflected in our folk beliefs.
A writer from one of the JOT writing groups will co-lead the seminar with Eleuterio.
