Five Decades of Chicago's Puerto Rican Music Scene: A Personal Recollection

The IHC is proud to co-sponsor a free discussion with cultural activist Carlos Flores, titled, “Five Decades of Chicago’s Puerto Rican Music Scene: A Personal Recollection.”

The event is part of American Sabor: Latinos in U.S. Popular Music, a traveling exhibition from the Smithsonian, presenting the musical contributions of U.S. Latinos from the 1940s to the present,exploring the social history and individual creativity that produced stars like Tito Puente, Ritchie Valens, Celia Cruz, Carlos Santana and Selena.

American Sabor will be on display through October 7, 2012 at the PRAA/U.S. Bank Exhibit Hall (2958 N Milwaukee Ave, Chicago).
