FINGERTAP QUARTET by Christine Sun Kim

Christine Sun Kim starts a metronome for a performance piece

Christine Sun Kim’s practice includes the persistent questioning of what she calls “the ownership of sound.” During this piece, she re-orients the parameters, social values and sets of rules based around that which is omnipresent and yet invisible to us all. While playing four sound files that she recorded using audio recorder, laptop and transducers, Kim will communicate the concepts behind the sounds by typing in large projected text on the wall behind her for the audience to read and experience.

This performance will be captioned for Deaf and hard of hearing audiences. If you require other assistance to participate, please contact Jane Beachy at jane.beachy@ilhumanities.org at least 72 hours prior to the program.
