Documentary film by Dawn Shapiro on the Handy Writer’s Colony and its creator, Lowney Handy. The Colony grew from an unofficial writers group formed in 1943 in Handy’s home in Robinson, Illinois, to a more formal colony in Marshall where students lived and wrote under Lowney’s rules and direction until her death in 1964.
