A Civil Rights Institute that will be part of the organization’s six week summer program for youth to be held July 13 to August 17 at the Jones Metropolitan High School. The Civil Rights Institute -required to all the participants in the program- will examine different aspects of the Civil Rights Movement and explore its relevance to today’s youth, specifically as a model for leadership and social change. Public program will explore how art such as spoken word, murals and music have been used as forms of protest in the US and around the world.
