Civil Rights Institute: Chicago Gangs and the Freedom Movement

A Civil Rights Institute that will be part of the organization’s six week summer program for youth to be held July 13 to August 17 at the Jones Metropolitan High School. The Civil Rights Institute -required to all the participants in the program- will examine different aspects of the Civil Rights Movement and explore its relevance to today’s youth, specifically as a model for leadership and social change. Public program will examine gangs in Chicago in the 60s and their connection to the Freedom Movement.
