A Civil Rights Institute that will be part of the organization’s six week summer program for youth to be held July 13 to August 17 at the Jones Metropolitan High School. The Civil Rights Institute -required to all the participants in the program- will examine different aspects of the Civil Rights Movement and explore its relevance to today’s youth, specifically as a model for leadership and social change. Public program will examine the Black Power movement in Chicago and how it differed from other forms of organizing.
