Childhood Denied: International and Local Realities

Dialogue with experts as we examine humanitarian issues, and the principles at the core of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. Presented through the assistance of the family of Evelyn T. and Raymond I. Geraldson.

Jimmie Briggs, an educator and author who has traveled worldwide and worked with child soldiers and authored “Innocents Lost: When Child Soldiers Go to War.” Katherine Kaufka, director of the Center for the Human Rights of Children at Loyola University Chicago, a national expert on child trafficking issues. Maurice McFarlin, an attorney and Northeastern Illinois University professor of Justice Studies, who has worked extensively with street organizations to prevent gang homicides in Chicago.

PARKING — free parking is available on the south side of Bryn Mawr Ave., just west of the University and on Central Ave., which runs north of the University (between Bryn Mawr and Peterson). On-campus parking is $5, just to the west of the Fine Arts Building.
