Chicago's Public Sculpture

Chicago is widely recognized for its public sculpture. In this lecture, Dr. Paluch-Mishur discusses the steps taken by prominent Chicagoans to establish the city as an outdoor museum of sculpture. This program provides an art historical context for a variety of public sculptures in and around Chicago’s Loop area. Some of the sculptors whose work will be discussed in this program are Pablo Picasso, Loredo Taft, and Claes Oldenburg. This program also incorporates recent sculptures from Millennium Park.
