Chicago History Author Series: Author Talk- 'The Chicago 'L',' with author Greg Borzo

Greg Borzo’s “The Chicago ‘L’ ” reveals Chicago’s most enduring icons, the “L”, which he’ll discuss on October 26th.

Operating since 1892, the “L” is a working antique. More than 10 billion people have ridden the “L”. It is an icon enjoyed by tourists, featured in motion pictures, photographed by admirers, and studied by historians. This lecture will show how the “L” helped build and revitalize Chicago throughout the decades. It has impacted the city so greatly, that despite attempts to tear it down, its future is secured and new lines planned.

The talks will begin at 4pm in the Baggage room of the Lisle Depot located on the grounds of the Museums at Lisle Station Park. Seating is on a first come basis and there is no registration required.

Thanks to the generous support of our sponsors we will be raffling off a copy of each book at the end of each author’s presentation and we will also have refreshments.

This event is free and open to the public. However, reservations are recommended and can be made at (630)-968-0499. Donations are appreciated. The museum is located at 921 School St., Lisle, IL 60532. Feel free to contact us with questions, (630)968-0499 or museum@lisleparkdistrict.org.
