The goal of the festival is to promote art, literature, and film created for, by, and about African Americans; to encourage literacy and education; and to shine a spotlight on the rich history of Chicago’s Bronzeville commmunity. "The Wiz," starring Diana Ross, will be screened.
The festival runs through June 22, 2008.

- June 21: Ten Days in Africa, Hip Hop Revolution, Sisters in Cinema, Jordan Strong: The Second Grader, and Beyond Beats and Rhymes
- June 22: The Wiz, starring Diana Ross
