Bronzeville Cultural Festival

The goal of the festival is to promote art, literature, and film created for, by, and about African Americans; to encourage literacy and education; and to shine a spotlight on the rich history of Chicago’s Bronzeville commmunity.

Films to be screened on June 21 include Jordan Strong: The Second Grader and Beyond Beats and Rhymes.

There will also be workshops on a variety of media-related topics, including race and the 2008 election youth and violence and images of black masculinity.

The festival runs through June 22, 2008.
