Bronzeville Cultural Festival

The goal of the festival is to promote art, literature, and film created for, by, and about African Americans; to encourage literacy and education; and to shine a spotlight on the rich history of Chicago’s Bronzeville commmunity.

Films to be screened on June 20 include What Black Men Think and Spin.

There will also be a workshop on film acting and a Q & A with director Harry Lennix.

The festival runs through June 22, 2008.

  • June 21: Ten Days in Africa, Hip Hop Revolution, Sisters in Cinema, Jordan Strong: The Second Grader, and Beyond Beats and Rhymes
  • June 22: The Wiz, starring Diana Ross
