Britten: Practitioner, Modernist, Inspiration

An exhibit examining multiple aspects of the life, artistic formation, and career of composer Benjamin Britten (1913-1976), featuring primary sources. Curated collaboratively by representatives of publisher Boydell & Brewer, Aldebergh Music, the Royal Academy of Music, and Illinois State University’s Milner Library and University Galleries. Presented in conjunction with “Benjamin Britten at 100: An American Centenary Symposium” at Illinois State University.

On display from October 22 through November 8 in Gallery 3 of the University Galleries, Illinois State University Center for Visual Arts. Hours: Monday — noon to 4 PM; Tuesday — 9:30 AM to 7 PM; Wednesday-Friday — 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM; Saturday — noon to 4 PM. Admission: free of charge.
