Join us as Cecilia Sanchez, Adjunct Professor of Hispanic Studies at Illinois Wesleyan University and Georgianne Schau, Youth Services Librarian at Bloomington Public Library, presents several short stories, including the book Cuckoo-CucĂș by Lois Ehliert.
The short stories will be read in both English and Spanish. In between stories, Cecilia Sanchez will lead program participants in a song sung in Spanish while playing guitar. Program participants will be taught several Spanish words to sing along.
The program will wrap up with a craft activity where children will get to make their own cuckoo bird out of paper and brass fasteners or color a cuckoo bird.
Bilingual Storytime is free and open to all children! Bilingual Storytime (presented on June 8th and August 17th) is being held in conjunction with the Museum’s current exhibit Fiesta!
