Beyond the Prison Industrial Complex with Ruth Wilson Gilmore

Scholar and feminist activist Ruth Wilson Gilmore, author of the award winning book, Golden Gulag, will discuss her stunning critique of mass incarceration. Gilmore is a co-founder of Critical Resistance, a national organization working to end the prison industrial complex. Her visionary leadership has been instrumental in advancing the campaign to reduce the over-reliance on incarceration and to build alternative pathways to safety and justice. Presented in partnership with the Institute for Research on Race and Public Policy at UIC, The Public Square, the Jane Addams Hull-House, others.
