Between Fences: Great Women of Illinois

This program offers a unique look at the lives of some of Illinois’ most famous suffragists, including: Mary Livermore, Frances Willard, Ida B. Wells-Barnett, Catherine Waugh McCulloch, and Byron‘s own Ruth Hanna McCormick.

In this history-making election year, learn how these women helped bring the vote to every American woman.

Presented by Leslie Goddard, educator and historian, this program supports the theme of Byron’s local exhibition, "Crossing Boundaries in Ogle County," by examining people from different towns around the county who have done their part to eradicate barriers in American life.
