A Road Scholar program by Rebecca Hunter
One objective of historical preservation is to save, restore and venerate old homes. Yet some homes can neither be saved nor moved and face demolition. Rebecca Hunter discusses ways to further the efforts of preservation when a house cannot be saved or moved. Learn how to organize and conduct a salvage operation and to recognize the importance of architectural artifacts for the benefit and restoration of other buildings.
Rebecca Hunter received two master’s degrees from Governors State University and currently serves as an independent researcher on historical architecture and President of Conspicuity Incorporated. She is the author of several articles for scholarly and general publications and has taught various subjects for over twenty-five years, including motorcycle safety and historic preservation.
